Our Youth Board is a group of young, diverse philanthropists who aspire to grow in leadership and life skills to positively impact the community. Under the leadership of the Corona-Norco United Way, the Youth Board Members are provided mentorship, leadership & personal development, and opportunities to grow for a successful future. Through this personal discovery, the Youth Board dedicates themselves to improving the community by providing resources and services to those in need. This includes serving in community events, collecting school supplies for low-income students, supporting holiday events to those facing extreme poverty or violence at home, and contributing to a community impact project.
The Corona-Norco United Way Youth Board is a group of young, diverse philanthropists who foster personal discovery & development, while providing light to our community.
The Youth Board application is open from April 1st to April 15th. If accepted, the term extends for ~one year beginning August 1 and ends in May 31.
Responsibilities:
Attendance in monthly meetings (3rd Friday of every month at 4:45 PM)
Active participation in events, programs, and projects
Contribution to the planning and execution of a yearly community impact project developed by the Youth Board
Weekly Hourly Commitment: 2-3 hours
Basic Qualifications:
Must have completed 8th grade
Must be enrolled in a public, private, charter, or home school within the jurisdictions of Corona, Norco, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Home Gardens, Temescal Valley, Coronita, or El Cerrito OR currently living in one of the aforementioned cities/county areas.
Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher
